Here we see a functional test called the Omaha Shoulder Symmetry Test.
We are looking for shoulder positional changes within the motion. We compare to symptom vs non symptom sides for motions, timing and position of the mechanics of the Gleno-humeral Joint. We also analyze the scapula-thoracic rhythm and unlocking.
This information is vital with other testing to develop a total plan of care when treating shoulder pain or dysfunction. The video analysis will give you frame by frame information and feed back cues for the patient to understand how their body is moving, and how we would like to change it.
We work on changing one element at a time for proprioceptive motor control learning. After many hundreds of reps and form analysis, we can move on to other changes and fixes.
