Bio

I have been racing in endurance events for 9 years now. Before that I was about 90 pounds more than I am now, and I drank and smoked. I made a New Year’s resolution to change my life for the better, to start eating right and exercising regularly. It took me about 4 months but I ran my first 5k and really enjoyed it. I have been loving the competition ever since.

In the past 9 years I have completed dozens of endurance events ranging from 5k to Ironman. I have qualified for Ironman 70.3 World Championships, ITU Long Course World Championships, and USAT Age Group Nationals at Sprint and Olympic distance triathlon multiple times. I keep focusing higher and my goal this year is to qualify for the Ironman World Championships at 70.3 Xiamen, China.

I find motivation in different places than you might think. A feeling of fear of not being able to be there for my family is one that motivates me a lot. I want to set an example for my daughter to follow into adulthood so I try to finish what I start and do it to the best of my ability. I am motivated by the effort of people in the back of the pack at any race, they amaze me with their consistency and persistence. My wife and I own a few daycare centers that concentrate on healthy eating at an early age, I am motivated to be an example for them because Mr. Caleb (as the children call me) is always reminding them to make good choices in everything they do.

Overall, I just want to be healthy and live a long, enjoyable life. I really love triathlon and what it has done for me. I am so very excited to work with Mark and Claire at CORE because they have shown me a plan to make me the best athlete I can be. Can’t wait!
