After a surgery like an ACL reconstruction or meniscus repair, the athlete must make sure that they are integrating balance exercises, and functional training to involve the hip. Often times, the hip is responsible for the excess Force that’s transmitted to the knee. Overall, this can lead to compensation and injury at the knee as the hip as well protected and built better for stability. We need to make sure that we emphasize hip control hip training and hip stability with functional exercise so that we have a complete athlete. We use visual feedback and manual cues to properly demonstrate and give the feedback to the athlete themselves to learn how to control their own bodies in space. This is one small element in the condition of being the total athlete.
